Proteomics International Laboratories has announced that its subsidiary, OxiDx, has been granted a patent in Japan for its platform technology to measure oxidative stress.

The patent is the first in a new family of patents for OxiDx's next-generation diagnostics technology.

Oxidative stress is implicated in various health conditions and is often reflective of a person's health and fitness level.

The technology has potential applications across several markets, including as a diagnostic test in treatment efficacy and precision medicine, as well as in athletic monitoring in sports and horse racing.

The patent, valid until March 2039, foreshadows additional patent applications in other major jurisdictions.
