PayPal offers 'cryptoeconomic' incentives for green Bitcoin mining

    Article Image

PayPal's Blockchain Research Group proposes a reward system for "green miners" of Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC).

The initiative incentivises miners using low-carbon energy sources to make Bitcoin mining more environmentally friendly.

Developed in collaboration with Energy Web and DMG Blockchain Solutions, the plan involves introducing "cryptoeconomic incentives" to motivate eco-friendly mining practices.

These incentives would reward green miners with extra Bitcoin, aiming to stimulate discussion and innovation within the Bitcoin community on environmental sustainability.

PayPal seeks industry feedback on the proposal to contribute to ongoing efforts to improve Bitcoin mining practices and promote ecological responsibility in the cryptocurrency world.
