Panini, a collectible firm, recently unveiled the launch of the World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) digital Donruss Elite card set on its blockchain platform.

Concurrently, notable developments in the nonfungible token (NFT) sector include Sports Illustrated's migration of its NFT ticketing platform, Box Office, to the Avalanche network, a move announced on February 20.

This strategic transition is facilitated through a collaboration with Ava Labs, creators of Avalanche, aiming to mint Box Office's NFT tickets on this more efficient network.

The migration reflects a growing trend in the events industry, according to SI Tickets CEO David Lane, who sees NFT ticketing as a paradigm shift.

Unlike traditional tickets, which lose their utility post-event, NFT tickets promise enhanced engagement opportunities for both event organisers and attendees, potentially transforming the attendee experience and extending the life of tickets beyond the events themselves.
