Oasis has unveiled its Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible Sapphire blockchain.

The platform offers improved privacy features to decentralised applications (DApps) using the layer-1 blockchain network.

Moreover, Sapphire and the Oasis Privacy Layer (OPL)'s enforcement means dApps on EVM networks can now use these features without requiring cross-chain swaps for tokens.

Oasis Foundation Director Jernej Kos has confirmed the OPL allows dApp developers on all EVM networks to make use of Sapphire’s features without having to switch to the Oasis blockchain.

“In this way, the privacy capabilities of Sapphire are exposed to any other chain,” Kos highlighted.
