Newmont announced the divestment of its Fruta del Norte asset to Lundin Gold for $360 million.

The move aligns with its strategy to optimise its gold mine portfolio following the acquisition of Newcrest.

During the March quarter, Newmont realised an average gold price of $2,090 per ounce, up from $1,906 in the previous year, reflecting record-high spot gold prices.

The company declared a dividend of 25 cents per chess depositary instrument held.
