Basketball fans are set to get a more personalised viewing experience during the 2021-22 Hungry Jack?s NBL Season with the official launch of the NBL Fan Channel.

Using cloud-based video technology developed by Victoria-based Linius Technologies (ASX:LNU), a cloud-based hyper-personalised video company, NBL fans can now build their own channel via the NBL website.

Linius CEO James Brennan said Linius? sports solutions have increased fan engagement for its other sports clients, and that the company is excited to now have basketball fans also able to enjoy it.

?We?re putting the game back in the hands of fans, and our technology brings a new era of personalised TV from sport, through to every kind of digital TV content there is,? Mr Brennan said.

Leveraging off the Linius Technologies? platform, fans can generate their own personalised video stream around their favourite team, players, and games that can be edited and shared online with followers and friends.

Each channel is automatically updated when new content matching their individual preferences becomes available.

Hungry Jack?s NBL Owner and Executive Chairman Larry Kestelman said the league wants fans to be able to watch the NBL in as many different ways they choose and enjoy the game with family and friends.

?The NBL Fan Channel service provides an opportunity to extend the reach of our sport by allowing our fans to curate and share their own channels,? Mr Kestelman said.

Linius is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner. AWS recently published a case-study on how Linius? technology has increased fan engagement across their digital channels since deploying the tech, and English Premier League club, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC (Wolves) has also experienced a material increase in viewer engagement since the integration of Linius? technology into their Partner Swanbay?s platform.

Experts predict that by 2022, online videos will make up more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic. However, until recently, videos have existed as large, containerized assets that are difficult to index for content-specific searches.

Linius cracks open a traditional video file exposing its data within, transforming a once in-penetrable video file into fully searchable data that can be enriched with AI and machine learning. And because it?s all done virtually and lightweight, an infinite amount of personalised video streams can then be re-assembled and delivered, on-the-fly, providing the most relevant information to the viewer.

The NBL Fan Channel experience is free for NBL fans to use and comprises just four simple steps to set up once an account has been created.
