NASA has entered into a strategic collaboration with computing startup Lonestar, with the objective of pioneering a blockchain-based data storage infrastructure on the lunar surface.

In the forthcoming mission scheduled for February 2024, a payload comprising of "data cubes" will be dispatched to the Moon's domain, all subject to blockchain technology validation.

This groundbreaking partnership intends to employ the same blockchain framework to establish immutable proof of human lunar landings.

This monumental verification milestone is slated to coincide with NASA's upcoming Artemis 3 mission, scheduled for a crewed launch in 2025.
