Miramar Resources (ASX:M2R) has provided an update on exploration activities planned for its extensive Gascoyne region project portfolio in Western Australia.
The company's projects are prospective for commodities including iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG), rare earth elements (REE) hosted in carbonatites, and nickel-copper-platinum-group elements (Ni-Cu-PGE) associated with Proterozoic dolerite sills.
Miramar Resources says it's using modelling and inversion of gravity data to identify high priority IOCG targets, and geochemical sampling to test for REE-bearing carbonatite intrusions and Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide mineralisation.
The explorer also says the PoW (Programme of Work) for Whaleshark diamond drilling is approved, and an EIS (Exploration Incentive Scheme) application has been submitted.
