MinRex Resources released results from its recent rock chip sampling at the Garden Creek and Sisters tenements within the Marble Bar Lithium Project.
Covering 71km2 near Marble Bar town, the project aims to identify lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatites.
Thirty-one rock chip samples were collected from pegmatite outcrops and elevated lithium zones. In the Sisters tenement, lithium concentrations ranged from 5.3ppm to 66ppm, with a median of 25ppm.
Elevated lithium levels are thought to result from mica alteration in mafic and ultramafic rocks. At the Garden Creek tenement, a significant 200m-long pegmatite outcrop was discovered.
