Walkabout Resources (ASX:WKT), a developer of the Lindi Jumbo Graphite Project in Southeast Tanzania, has revealed a substantial rise in sales orders for September.
The company received orders totalling 800 tonnes of graphite concentrate, including larger volume sales to new customers in China and India.
Walkabout's Managing Director and CEO, Andrew Cunningham, stated, "Starting regular large volume sales is an important milestone and begins to cement Lindi Jumbo as a reliable producer of high-quality graphite concentrate in the minds of end customers."
"Lindi Jumbo remains fully exposed to market prices for its graphite products and therefore will benefit from the forecasted cyclical increase in prices in the coming years," Cunningham added.
Lindi Jumbo has ramped up production significantly since its initial production in June, producing over 3,200 tonnes of graphite concentrate.
September’s month-to-date production averages approximately 50 tonnes of dry graphite concentrate per day, despite a scheduled 5-day maintenance shutdown.
Early sales to Europe and Asia consisted of pilot orders aimed at customer testing and confirmation of product quality.
Lindi Jumbo is anticipating follow-up orders for both its coarse and fine flake graphite from these initial customers in the upcoming months.
Wogen, a direct customer, has secured two major sales orders of 800 tonnes of predominantly coarse flake graphite.
Pricing for these current sales is consistent with previously announced figures, and the company is optimistic about meeting consistent market demand as production scales up.
At the time of reporting, Walkabout Resources' share price was $0.10.
