Thor Energy (ASX:THR) has commenced on-ground preparations for its 2024 drilling program at the Wedding Bell and Radium Mountain Projects, located in the Uravan Mineral Belt, southwest Colorado, USA.

The 2024 drilling program at the Rim Rock and Groundhog mine areas aims to expand and consolidate previous successful outcomes from 2022 and 2023.

The reverse circulation drilling will include both infill and extension holes, with the objective of completing a JORC mineral resource estimation.

Nicole Galloway Warland, Managing Director of Thor Energy, stated, "With all approvals in place as announced in August, Thor is delighted to commence on ground drill site preparations for our upcoming infill and extension drill program."

"This highlights the company’s direction in focusing on our main priority in the Thor portfolio, our uranium and vanadium prospects at the Wedding Bell and Radium Mountain Projects," Warland added.

Infill drilling at Groundhog will target high-grade uranium and vanadium mineralisation, extending up to 300m to the north and east of the area intercepted in hole 23WBRA020.

Rim Rock will see similar activity centred around previously drilled holes 23WBRA011, 23WBRA012, and 23WBRA016.

Contractors Envirotech Drilling and Jet West Geophysical Services have been secured for the drilling and downhole logging respectively.

The drilling is scheduled to commence in early October.
