Strickland Metals (ASX:STK) confirmed high gold recovery rates at the Horse Well Gold Camp following extensive metallurgical test work.
Testwork on six fresh rock composite samples from the Palomino deposit recorded gold recoveries of up to 88.6%, with gravity gold recoveries reaching 32.5%.
The ore is suitable for processing through SABC milling or three-stage crushing, followed by gravity and cyanide leach treatment.
Managing Director Paul L'Herpiniere highlighted that the absence of carbon and arsenic, combined with low silver content, reduces the risk of preg-robbing and excessive cyanide consumption.
"By completing metallurgical test work of fresh ore we have successfully de-risked future development including drilling that will target high-grade extensions to the Warmblood and Palomino deposits at depth and down plunge," he added.
The Yandal Gold Project spans 70km of greenstone terrain along the Celia Shear Zone, with Horse Well Gold Camp as its key focus since the sale of the Millrose deposit in 2023.
Resource expansion has increased the 257,000 oz Au1 base to over 3km of strike, with high-grade mineralisation open at depth.
Testwork, conducted by ALS Metallurgy and reviewed by MineScope Services, classified the ore as hard, with a Bond Ball Mill Work Index of 16.8 kWh/t.
Cyanide leaching achieved total recoveries between 78.5% and 88.6%.
Strickland plans to advance the Horse Well mining lease application and continue exploration at the Dusk 'til Dawn Gold Camp, with a mineral resource estimate update expected soon.
At the time of reporting, Strickland Metals' share price was $0.085.
