Sierra Nevada Gold (ASX:SNX) has commenced a reverse circulation drilling program at the Endowment Mine, part of its Blackhawk Epithermal Project in Nevada, USA.
The program seeks to confirm high-grade silver and polymetallic-rich ore identified in previous drilling efforts.
The 1,500m drilling effort targets near-surface extensions and high-grade zones, such as the previously reported 12m at 219 g/t Ag, and 11.6% Pb + Zn at a depth of 250m.
The reverse circulation drilling is anticipated to take two to three weeks, with results expected thereafter.
A recent LiDAR survey played a crucial role in refining drill targets and enhancing the precision of the exploration process.
Sierra Nevada Gold is optimistic about uncovering more mineralisation along the extensive 22.5km vein system.
Peter Moore, Executive Chairman of SNX, stated, "We are excited to have the drill program underway at Blackhawk … Previous drilling at the Endowment Mine has delivered high-grade results up to 1270g/t silver."
The Blackhawk project has a rich history, with mining operations dating back to the 1860s, and remains a promising target for modern exploration.
Sierra Nevada Gold is engaged in the exploration and acquisition of precious and base metal projects in the highly prospective mineral trends in Nevada.
At the time of reporting, Sierra Nevada Gold’s share price was $0.005.
