Iltani Resources has completed its initial mapping and sampling program at the Antimony Reward Project in Herberton, North Queensland, confirming extensive antimony mineralisation.
The mapping revealed two parallel structures featuring multiple epithermal quartz veins with stibnite and minor stibiconite occurrences, extending over a total strike length of at least 800m.
Nineteen samples have been dispatched to ALS Townsville for assay, with results expected within one to two weeks.
Preliminary plans include a reverse circulation drilling program, consisting of 15 to 20 drill holes, totalling 1,500m, which is designed to further test the mineralisation.
"These results have prompted us to fast-track our exploration efforts at Antimony Reward.
The ban on Chinese antimony exports and the rise in antimony prices to US$25,100 ($37,310) per tonne provide a significant opportunity for us," stated Donald Garner, Managing Director of Iltani Resources.
The drilling program is scheduled to commence by the end of September or early October, with ongoing cooperation from the landowner and the First Nations group to ensure smooth operations.
Antimony, known as a critical mineral, is used in flame retardants and lead-acid batteries, crucial for a low-emission future.
