Equinox Resources (ASX:EQN) has made noteworthy advances in its exploration campaign at the Alturas Antimony Project in British Columbia, Canada.
The campaign revealed a 1.5km shear zone extending from the west to the eastern project boundary, accompanied by several dilation zones and a significant copper-bearing boulder field.
The shear zone, ranging from 5m to 25m in width, demonstrates substantial potential for expanded mineralisation.
Historical findings confirmed the presence of high-grade stibnite, bolstering the project's prospects for high-grade antimony.
Additionally, the newly discovered copper-bearing boulder field could signify an underlying copper-rich zone.
"The latest exploration results at the Alturas project have exceeded our expectations, particularly with the confirmation of the wide, expansive 1.5km shear zone and the discovery of a new copper-bearing boulder field," commented Zac Komur, Managing Director of Equinox Resources.
Multiple rock and soil samples targeting key shear structures have been collected and sent for lab analysis, with results anticipated by late October to early November.
The findings suggest strong hydrothermal activity indicated by newly identified alteration zones, which could house additional high-grade mineralisation.
The Alturas Project's new discoveries mark a significant stride in Equinox Resources' exploration efforts, highlighting the potential for further development of high-grade antimony and copper mineralisation in British Columbia.
