Barton Gold (ASX:BGD) announced positive results from follow-up drilling at the Tarcoola Gold Project's Perseverance mine.
The drilling confirmed new adjacent zones of shallow pit floor gold mineralisation, including several key high-grade assays.
The recent drilling campaign involved ten reverse circulation drill holes totalling 882m, following up on the July Tarcoola JORC mineral resource estimate.
Key intercepts include TBM0209 with 4m @ 10.4 g/t Au from 32m, including 1m @ 34.4 g/t Au, and TBM0213 with 7m @ 9.63 g/t Au from 67m, including 2m @ 28.0 g/t Au.
Commenting on the results, Barton Gold's Managing Director, Alexander Scanlon, stated, "We are pleased to confirm further high-grade mineralisation in the Perseverance Mine’s open pit floor."
"This is expected to support the definition of additional JORC Resources and we plan to review potential extensions as we position our assets for a potential 'Stage 1' operation utilising our fully permitted Central Gawler Mill,” Scanlon added.
The new mineralisation zones identified are located to the east of the previously established July MRE block model and are within 10m-100m of the pit floor.
The discovery is expected to increase the total recoverable gold ounces from the same development profile.
Barton Gold is also evaluating other modelled but unclassified extensions for potential follow-up drilling to further expand the resource base at Tarcoola.
At the time of reporting, Barton Gold's share price was $0.245.
