Aura Energy has lodged an exploitation permit application for its Häggån K no 1 Project with the Swedish Mining Inspectorate.

The project, located in central Sweden, is part of Aura's strategic move to advance its significant polymetallic mineral resources.

Additionally, Aura has submitted a new exploration application for Häggån no 2, covering the areas of the original Häggån no 1 concession.

Andrew Grove, Managing Director and CEO of Aura Energy, noted, "The exploitation permit Application process has confirmed some crucial matters about the Häggån future-facing metals Project, stemming from our work focused on both environment and social impacts."

"Sweden is currently the EU's leading mining and mineral nation, and Sweden's minerals strategy will strengthen that position by using its mineral resources sustainably," Grove added.

The Häggån Project contains an approximately 2 billion-tonne polymetallic resource, featuring vanadium, potassium, nickel, zinc, molybdenum, and uranium.

Although the 2023 Häggån scoping study did not consider uranium due to Sweden's current mining ban, it highlighted the project’s potential, covering only 3% of the resource.

Aura Energy's permit applications, if granted, will secure tenure over the Häggån Project for 25 years.

The company aims to develop a sustainable and responsible mining operation in compliance with Swedish regulations.

Aura Energy is a mineral company with uranium and polymetallic projects in Africa and Europe. The company is engaged in the exploration and evaluation of uranium, vanadium and gold and base metals in Mauritania and Sweden.

The company is focused on uranium production commencing at the Tiris Project, a greenfield uranium discovery in Mauritania.
