Augustus Minerals has announced the discovery of a significant copper zone at the Nero prospect within its Ti-Tree Project.
The newly identified zone, defined by 24 rock chips, boasts copper grades of up to 3.1% and silver grades approaching 11g/t over a 1.1km strike length.
The high-grade copper and silver mineralisation is hosted within malachite-bearing quartz veins cutting through dolerite and granite along a northeast-trending fault zone.
The next steps include ongoing mapping and fieldwork to identify suitable drilling platforms for future exploration programs.
"This discovery at the Nero Prospect confirms the potential for multiple significant mineralised zones within the Ti-Tree Project. It's an exciting development for our exploration efforts," said Brian Rodan, executive chairman of Augustus Minerals.
The Nero prospect, located 3.7km northeast of the Claudius Prospect, showcases gossanous quartz veins up to 5m wide.
The mineralisation is consistent across the zone, with 17 out of 24 samples assaying over 0.1% copper, and five samples exceeding 1% copper.
Additionally, one sample returned a maximum copper grade of 3.1%. Augustus Minerals is already planning deep diamond drilling at the Minnie Springs Cu-Mo Porphyry target to test for high-grade copper sulphide mineralisation.
The drilling is slated for September to October.
Augustus Minerals is an exploration company engaged in exploring lithium, rare earths and copper in a large tenement package located in the Gascoyne Province of Western Australia.
At the time of reporting, Augustus Mineral’s share price was $0.059.
