Argent Minerals (ASX:ARD) has released gold assay results from its rock chip sampling program at the Trunkey Creek Gold Project in New South Wales.
The results confirm substantial surface gold mineralisation.
The Trunkey Creek Project, located approximately 9km southeast of the Kempfield Project, has shown gold assays up to 24 g/t Au in sample 3001038, with notable other assays including 15.1 g/t in sample 3001037 and 12.6 g/t in sample 3001059.
Additionally, historical induced polarisation surveys revealed significant resistivity and chargeability anomalies indicative of potential quartz veins and sulphides.
"We are extremely pleased to have received incredibly positive geophysical/geochemical results highlighting significant gold mineralisation potential at Trunkey Creek," commented Pedro Kastellorizos, Managing Director of Argent Minerals.
"Recent high-grade gold rock chip assays in conjunction with locating the old mine workings have highlighted the significant exploration potential over the Trunkey Creek Project area," Kastellorizos added.
The ground IP survey defined several high-resistivity zones within a 3.8 km by 500 m area, correlating with historical gold workings.
The zones have not yet been subjected to drilling, providing ample opportunity for future exploration and potential gold discoveries.
Argent Minerals plans to systematically test these high-resistivity and chargeable zones through well-targeted drilling campaigns, thus advancing its exploration strategy to identify new, undiscovered gold mineralisation across the Trunkey Creek Project.
At the time of reporting, Argent Minerals' share price was $0.018.
