Maronan Metals (ASX:MMA) has intersected a shallow, wide interval of visible lead sulphide mineralisation at its test drill of the Shallow Silver Zone (SSZ) in the Carpentaria Province, and has begun testing the strong copper-gold conductor using its drill rig.

The company says it's pleased with visible results from its drilling closer to surface, and will shift focus to the SSZ within the Starter Zone as a potential pathway to production.

Its Managing Director, Richard Carlton says the company is also excited to have commenced drilling a hole to test the strong offhole DHEM (downhole electromagnetic) conductor from MRN22005.

Shares of Maronan Metals are up 13% the past month.
