    Legacy Iron Ore (ASX:LCY) progresses Mt Bevan magnetite JV on budget

    The Mt Bevan Iron Ore Joint Venture project is a joint venture between Legacy Iron Ore (ASX:LCY) (42%), Hawthorn Resources (ASX:HAW) (28%), and Hancock Prospecting (30%).

    The joint venture has completed reverse circulation and core drilling, metallurgical test work, heritage studies, environmental studies, and product-logistics options study, and port destinations studies.

    The metallurgical test work has confirmed an Fe % Davis Tube Recovery (DTR) grade of approximately 67%, and the mineral resource previously reported by Legacy.

    The joint venture has also started aerial magnetic surveys to identify palaeo-valley drill targets to locate a sizeable long-term water supply, and engineering services for mineral processing, tailings storage facility design, mineral resource modelling, mine geotechnical work, and a combined rail and port study.

    The Mt Bevan project is located in the northern part of the Mt Ida Greenstone belt and covers three substantial banded iron formation horizons extending for a strike distance of over 25km.
