Capricorn Metals (ASX:CMM) said its CEO, Paul Criddle, is on leave after being charged with aggravated assault, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

The company disclosed the matter in a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange after market close on April 22, confirming that Criddle is facing legal proceedings and is due to stand trial on Nov. 10.

The charge, relating to an alleged incident of unlawful assault causing bodily harm with circumstances of aggravation, was filed last week in the Fremantle Magistrates Court.

Capricorn stated that Criddle has been granted leave while the matter is before the court and that no further comments will be made at this time.

Executive Chairman Mark Clark will continue in his full-time leadership role, supported by the broader executive team.
