Australian financial company Latitude (ASX:LFS) has revealed that a recent cyberattack has caused the theft of 7.9 million Australian and New Zealand driver license numbers from the company's systems.
Additionally, 53,000 passport numbers and the personal data of approximately 6.1 million clients dating back to 2005, were accessed.
The Australian Federal Police and cybersecurity experts are investigating the incident, and have indicated no suspicious activity since March 16.
Latitude has notified all affected customers and is undertaking a comprehensive care program for those impacted, including providing identity protection support and financial hardship assistance.
