Australian mining company Lanthanein has begun a 307-hole drilling programme at the Murraydium rare earth elements (REE) project in South Australia.
The project is located in the same region as Australian Rare Earths' Koppamurra project, which hosts REEs in the Loxton Parilla Sands formation, worth an estimated AUD1.1bn ($805m).
Lanthanein is targeting the same sands in its drilling programme, as well as expanding the REE market through its research and development of lanthanide-containing products.
