    Japan's Mercari embraces Bitcoin payments starting in June

    Japanese e-commerce giant Mercari is allowing users to purchase products listed on its flea market app using Bitcoin from June.

    The payments will be handled through its Tokyo-based crypto exchange subsidiary Melcoin.

    The product prices will be displayed in yen, but there will be an option to pay in Bitcoin.

    Sellers will receive Bitcoin payment in yen, as Mercari would convert the digital currency to fiat in real-time.
