The Indian rupee is expected to face challenges due to foreign outflows from the country's equity markets and overall weakness in Asian currencies.

Non-deliverable forwards suggest a slight weakening of the rupee against the US dollar, opening at 83.15.

Foreign investors have withdrawn US$2.8 billion ($4.26 billion) from Indian equities recently.

The rupee, along with other Asian currencies, is also affected by a stronger US dollar amid uncertainty about potential interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve.
