IBM, in collaboration with the David Clark Cause, the United Nations Human Rights Office of the Commissioner, and the Linux Foundation, revealed the winners of the 2023 Call for Code hackathon on December 6.
The hackathon, which is in its sixth year, had participants from over 180 countries, who have collectively created around 24,000 applications so far.
Winners receive $50,000 and development support from IBM and partners.
The developer category winner is AGNO from Hexaware Technologies, who created Farmistar AI for crop management strategies.
In the university category, Phyto from The University of Sydney won with their AI tool for rehabilitating contaminated soil, while Synergy Squad won the independent vendor/startup category with Offshelf, a waste reduction platform.
