The Hong Kong government is promoting its latest digital green bonds offering to strengthen its position as a digital asset hub.

Planning four tokenised green notes in offshore Chinese yuan, Hong Kong dollar, US dollar, and euro, the issuance size is yet to be determined.

The bonds will be issued using HSBC Holdings' (NYSE:HSBC) tokenisation platform, HSBC Orion, leveraging blockchain for quicker settlement and faster coupon payments.

The initiative is part of Hong Kong's green bond program, aiming to support environmentally beneficial government projects.

Last year, Hong Kong debuted its issuance of HK$800 million ($157 million) in 365-day tokenised green notes.
