Hexima (ASX:HXL) has announced its Acting CEO and former COO, Dr Nicole van der Weerden will step down from her executive responsibilities at the end of this year.

The biotechnology company engaged in the research and development of plant-derived molecules for use in human health, says the move is consistent with its intention to manage expenses with non-essential employees.

Hexima says its operational activities have been largely wound down over the past 6 months, reducing the need for a full-time CEO.

It also says Dr van der Weerden will continue as a Non-Executive Director of the company and continue to support Hexima through this transition period.
