Heavy Minerals (ASX:HVY) has announced drilling has been completed at its 100% owned Port Gregory project in WA, with the first batch of assays due to be received in February.

Heavy Minerals says the 139-hole, 4,455m Air Core drill program is intended to improve the classification of the existing JORC Mineral Resource, prior to starting a pre-feasibility study.

It says the JORC (2012) Mineral Resource is 4.9 million tonnes of contained Garnet and 500 thousand tonnes of ilmenite.

Heavy Minerals says it’s hoping to potentially increase the total resource based on extension drilling to the east, north, and south.
