Great Western Exploration completed an extensive 8,000m aircore drilling campaign at its Firebird Gold Project.
The Phase 2 program followed significant results from the maiden reverse circulation drilling earlier this year and aimed to define potential major gold mineralisation.
The maiden reverse circulation drilling tested a large Ultrafine+ soil anomaly, returning results open up to 2km south along the strike, indicating a potentially major gold system.
The Phase 2 aircore drilling, consisting of 83 drill holes covering 8,021m, confirmed geological consistency with the maiden reverse circulation program, identifying basalt, volcaniclastic sediment, mafic/sedimentary schist, and banded iron formation rocks.
Assay results are expected in February 2024.
