Friend.tech, a decentralised social media platform, is gearing up for its version two launch and airdrop on May 3, but leaked smart contracts suggest it might include controversial features like nontransferable tokens.

These tokens, potentially named $POINT, could only be traded on BunnySwap and transferred to whitelisted addresses, restricting users from selling or exchanging them freely.

The decision to make the tokens nontransferable is seen as a strategy to enforce a 1.5% platform fee, representing a shift from the platform's non-venture capitalist approach.

While this move has sparked concerns among crypto enthusiasts, nontransferable tokens could alleviate initial airdrop selling pressure, as seen in previous instances like Omni Network’s OMNI (CRYPTO:OMNI) token and Wormhole’s W (CRYPTO:W) token.

However, such tokens have also been criticised for facilitating market manipulation and consolidation, as evidenced by past incidents involving professional airdrop hunters consolidating significant token amounts.
