Fluence Corporation has been awarded a US$7.1 million ($10.8 million) contract to provide a Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Project for Stereau SAS on Mayotte, a French archipelago in the Indian Ocean.

The project aims to deliver 10,000 m3/day of potable water and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

The SWRO system will be a part of the Grande-Terre desalination plant at Ironi Bé in Mayotte.

Stereau, the primary contractor, is an engineering subsidiary of the Saur Group, known for its global operations in SWRO projects.

The system, designed for the remote location, will be skid-mounted to expedite construction and commissioning.

Reflecting on this win, Steven Scheidler, general manager of Fluence’s Municipal Water & Wastewater Group, stated, "We have closed another significant win through focus and execution of our One Fluence approach, using our teams in the US and the Middle East to work closely with Stereau and leverage our expertise."

Fluence CEO and Managing Director Tom Pokorsky added, "This is a great win that results from significant teamwork between three geographic regions of our Municipal Group. We look forward to building on this momentum and finishing the 3rd quarter and FY24 strong."

Work on the project will commence immediately to meet the growing regional needs of Mayotte.

The project's completion by 2025 aims to ensure the delivery of high-quality desalinated potable water in accordance with French standards.

Fluence Corporation provides decentralised water and wastewater treatment solutions.

The company is engaged in wastewater treatment and reuse, high-strength wastewater treatment, wastewater-to-energy, industrial and drinking water markets, with its pre-engineered, standardised smart products solutions, including Aspiral, NIROBOX, SUBRE and Nitro.
