APA Group supports AER's decision to keep light regulation for South West Queensland pipeline

APA Group (ASX:APA) expressed its approval of the Australian Energy Regulator’s draft decision regarding the regulatory framework applied to the South West Queensland Pipeline.

The draft decision suggests maintaining the existing light regulation regime rather than imposing full price regulation.

The preliminary decision by the AER will undergo further consultation and submissions from APA and other stakeholders.

Final considerations will be made post-consultation, which may confirm the draft decision, allowing the current light regulation to persist for SWQP.

APA Group has committed to keeping the market apprised as the process unfolds, in alignment with its continuous disclosure obligations.

"APA welcomes the AER’s draft decision to maintain the current form of regulation for the SWQP. This decision, if confirmed, creates confidence to make the necessary investment in our East Coast Gas Grid to support energy security for our customers and consumers," said Adam Watson, APA Group CEO and Managing Director.

APA Infrastructure, a fully owned subsidiary, continues to manage significant energy assets, reinforcing APA's commitment to securing Australia's energy future.
