Encounter Resources (ASX:ENR) has identified carbonatites over 3.5km of strike at the Aileron critical minerals project in the West Arunta region of Western Australia.

The company said three diamond drill holes that intersected the Elephant Island Fault at the Crean and Hoschke targets have all intersected niobium-REE mineralised carbonatites.

It also said the three holes cover a strike extent of 3.5km and the mineralised carbonatite remains open to the east and west and is increasing in width to the east.

Enounter Resources highlighted an assay result from a 23.8m interval of 16m @ 0.6% nitrogen pentoxide and 0.2% TREO from 350m.
