Element 25 is evaluating the potential to recommence operations at its 100%-owned Butcherbird Manganese Project in Western Australia.

The decision comes amid record-high manganese ore prices, driven by supply disruptions at South 32’s (ASX:S32) Groote Eylandt operations.

Manganese ore prices have surged to a four-year high of U$8.30/dmtu for 44% cif Tianjin, China.

The company suspended Butcherbird production in early 2024 due to low ore prices but had planned to upgrade facilities for a nominal 1.1Mpta manganese concentrate production as per a January feasibility study.

The potential restart is intended to occur in parallel with the planned expansion activities, ensuring no disruption to ongoing development.
