California wildfire update as of Thursday night: At least 10 people died and thousands of structures had been burned as a handful of fires continued to rage across the north and west of the Los Angeles area. About 180,000 people were evacuated from their homes. The Palisades Fire, the largest of the blazes, is now about 8% contained, and has consumed more than 20,000 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
