Eagers Automotive suffered a cyber incident, causing operational disruptions across parts of its business in Australia and New Zealand.
The disruption primarily affected the company's ability to finalise transactions for some new vehicles ready for delivery and some sections of its service and parts operations.
The financial impact of the incident is expected to result mainly from the deferral of some transactions during the last days of December.
Although the company's profit for 2023 will be impacted, Eagers Automotive remains confident it will deliver a record operating profit and expects to recognise deferred transactions in 2024.
The company is currently investigating the incident with help from external experts to understand if any personal information was compromised.
