DroneShield Ltd (ASX:DRO) was chosen to provide security for the inauguration ceremony of the president-elect of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
DroneGun TacticalTM, their counterdrone/C-UAS system, was used to neutralize four suspicious drones heading towards the president at the event, attended by tens of thousands of people.
DroneShield has recently expanded into the Brazil market and has now sold a quantity of DroneGun TacticalTM units to the Brazilian Government.
The CEO, Oleg Vornik, believes the high-profile deployment will lead to further systems being utilised in Brazil, and while the impact on sales is unknown, it is expected to be significant.
