    Dow Jones closes up 0.06%, ASX futures lower ahead of Sydney open

    The Dow Jones rose 0.1% to finish the trading day up 18 points to close at 31,410 points.

    Earlier, markets in Europe had a strong session as London's FTSE rose and Germany's DAX gained.

    Asian markets are set to open lower with ASX futures pointing down 8 points (-0.1%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

    The Australian dollar is stronger against the major currencies and is buying 77.9 US cents.

    Gold is trading at US$1,729 per ounce with copper down 2.65% to US$4.232/pound.

    WTI Crude oil is selling for US$59.75 per barrel while Brent oil is unchanged at US$62.22/barrel.

    The spot iron ore price remains above US$150 per ton trading at US$173.16 and one bitcoin is worth US$51,034 going into the Asian trading day.
