Earlier, markets in Europe had strong sessions as London's FTSE and Germany's DAX finished the trading day higher.
Asian markets are set to open lower, with ASX futures down 61 points (-0.8%) ahead of the open in Sydney.
The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 72.21 US cents.
Gold is trading at US$1,810 per ounce with copper down 2.11% to US$4.381 per pound.
WTI Crude oil is selling for US$77.20 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$80.10 per barrel.
The spot iron ore price is trading at US$117 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$43,587 going into the Asian trading day.
