Dow Jones closed down 0.6%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

The Dow Jones fell 0.58% to finish the trading day down 211 points to close at 35,931 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were mixed as London's FTSE fell -0.49% while Germany's DAX finished the trading day higher, up 0.02%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 72.67 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,867 per ounce with copper down 0.02% to US$4.273 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$78.20 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$80.20 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$85.5 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$60,111 going into the Asian trading day.
