Dow Jones closed down 0.3%, ASX futures down ahead of market open in Sydney

  • Dow Jones closes down 90.55 points (-0.3%).
  • ASX futures trading lower with ASX set to fall 7 points (-0.1%).
  • Bitcoin is trading at US$48,000.

The Dow Jones fell 0.25% to finish the trading day down 91 points to close at 36,398 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were mixed as London's FTSE fell -0.24% while Germany's DAX finished the trading day higher, up 0.21%.

Asian markets are set to open lower, with ASX futures down 7 points (-0.1%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 72.51 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,814 per ounce with copper down 0.46% to US$4.393 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$76.45 per barrel while Brent oil is lower at US$78.96 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$113.5 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$47,202 going into the Asian trading day.
