Dow Jones closed down 0.2%, ASX futures higher ahead of market open in Sydney

The Dow Jones fell 0.17% to finish the trading day down 60 points to close at 34,580 points.

Earlier, markets in Europe were weaker as London's FTSE fell 0.1% while Germany's DAX finished the trading day lower, down 0.6%.

Asian markets are set to open higher, with ASX futures up 23 points (0.3%) ahead of the open in Sydney.

The Australian dollar is firm against the major currencies and is buying 70.02 US cents.

Gold is trading at US$1,783 per ounce with copper down 0.01% to US$4.267 per pound.

WTI Crude oil is selling for US$66.26 per barrel while Brent oil is higher at US$69.88 per barrel.

The spot iron ore price is trading at US$99 per metric ton and one bitcoin is worth US$49,255 going into the Asian trading day.
