Titomic (ASX:TTT) announced a collaboration with aerospace and defence giant Northrop Grumman to develop and manufacture high-performance pressure vessels.

By combining Titomic's expertise in cold spray technology with Northrop Grumman's leadership in the sector, the two companies aim to enhance the performance, durability, and production efficiency of critical pressure vessels.

The collaboration is centred around an initial concept development study, which includes part production for testing, to refine manufacturing processes for future projects.

Titomic's cold spray technology, which eliminates the need for high-heat methods, enables the creation of stronger, more complex components with reduced lead times and minimal material waste.

The partnership also highlights Titomic's commitment to addressing global supply chain challenges by utilising localised production capabilities in the United States.

The pressure vessel market, valued in the billions, offers growth potential, and this collaboration positions both companies to capture this opportunity.

Titomic CEO Jim Simpson highlighted the importance of overcoming supply chain barriers in manufacturing critical defence components.

Dr. Neil Matthews, Titomic's technical fellow, added that the collaboration demonstrates the potential of cold spray technology to redefine manufacturing limitations, setting a new standard for aerospace and defence production.

At the time of reporting, Titomic's share price was $0.21.
