Retail sales in Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 14.1% year-on-year in December 2023, a slowdown compared to the 16.4% rise in the previous month.

Sales for non-food products saw a weaker growth rate of 20.4% compared to 25.4% in November.

However, food product sales saw a faster growth rate, increasing 9.5% from 8.5% in the previous month, and there was also an increase in automotive fuel sales from 1.9% to 2.7%.

Despite these increases, the retail trade dropped by 1.1% on a monthly basis, which reversed the 3.9% surge seen in November.
