The team behind the popular Web3 game Hamster Kombat (CRYPTO:HMSTR) has announced details of its season one airdrop.
Of the 100 billion Hamster Kombat tokens created for the project, 60 billion will be airdropped to qualified users.
According to the team, only 43% of the game's total users—around 131 million—will receive the airdrop, which is set for September 26.
The remaining 15% of tokens will be distributed during season two.
Of the 60 billion tokens being airdropped, 88.75% will be available immediately, while the remaining 11.25% will be vested and released 10 months after the token is listed on exchanges.
This means 53.25 billion tokens will be airdropped to users right away, with the remaining 6.75 billion released over time.
Despite boasting more than 300 million total users, Hamster Kombat banned 2.3 million accounts for cheating, limiting the number of qualified participants.
The game, which has grown rapidly in the Web3 space, reached over 239 million users within its first 81 days.
According to Telegram founder Pavel Durov, Hamster Kombat’s popularity could drive Web3 adoption by introducing millions of new users to cryptocurrency.
On July 30, the Hamster Foundation described the upcoming airdrop as potentially the largest in crypto history.
The team confirmed that most of the airdropped tokens would go directly to players, while the rest would be allocated for liquidity, ecosystem partnerships, and other initiatives.
They also stated that no early investments from venture capital firms would influence the token’s value, leaving its price entirely dependent on market demand, supply, and community interest.
