Binance founder CZ shifts focus to blockchain, AI, and biotech

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared a personal update following his release from U.S. custody, outlining his future plans and aspirations. 

In a post on X, CZ highlighted his intention to focus on various projects related to blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and education. 

Zhao expressed excitement about his ongoing efforts, including his involvement with Giggle Academy, stating, "Giggle Academy has been going well, and will be a big part of my life for the next few years." 

He added, "I will continue to invest in blockchain/decentralized technologies, AI, and biotech. I am a long-term investor who cares about impact, not returns." 

In addition to his business ventures, CZ plans to deepen his philanthropic efforts, sharing, "I will also dedicate more time and funding to charity (and education). I have some rough ideas." 

Reflecting on his incarceration, he expressed gratitude for simple pleasures, noting, "The food taste so good… And what a luxury to be able to have more than one piece of fruit per day!" 

CZ also mentioned his ongoing work on an upcoming book, which he described as being two-thirds complete. 

"Writing a book is a lot more work than I anticipated, but will see this one through," he shared. 

Despite stepping down as Binance's CEO, CZ remains optimistic about the company's future, stating, "Binance continues to thrive without my daily input, which is every founder’s dream." 

He concluded by thanking his supporters and acknowledging that "there are always more opportunities in the future than there were in the past."
