Avalanche’s (CRYPTO:AVAX) blockchain gaming ecosystem introduced a free Battle Pass NFT on June 16, 2025, aiming to unify player rewards across multiple games.

The Battle Pass, available for free minting on the Magic Eden (CRYPTO:ME) marketplace, was developed in partnership with Ava Labs and Playfull.

Once minted, users register their Battle Pass on Playfull’s website and earn rewards by playing participating games such as Off the Grid, Pixelmon: Warden's Ascent, Spellborne, DeFi Kingdoms, and The Arena.

Rewards include in-game NFTs and AVAX tokens, which accumulate as players progress through the Battle Pass’s reward path.

The Battle Pass model draws from popular gaming formats like Fortnite, where players complete objectives to earn digital assets or currency.

“One ecosystem, one Battle Pass, one user experience. We’ve now got everything from AAA shooters to iconic IPs running on their own Avalanche Layer-1s. That’s awesome for scale, but it fragments discovery and can leave each community feeling siloed,” said Parker Heath, Ava Labs Gaming Lead.

“The Battle Pass is our on-chain watering hole—a single progression layer where players earn rewards no matter which game they drop into,” he added.

The free minting period will last for one month and currently supports over a dozen games.

Despite recent challenges in blockchain gaming, including studio closures and falling token prices, Avalanche titles like Off the Grid and MapleStory N have seen strong user engagement.

“Off the Grid has over 300,000 daily users amid its transition to the GUNZ mainnet, and MapleStory N has attracted over 770,000 users since last month’s launch,” Heath noted.

At the time of reporting, the Avalanche (AVAX) price was $19.25.
