Cronos (CRYPTO:CRO) zkEVM Testnet has successfully upgraded to its latest release, 'Tethys,' ahead of the upcoming mainnet launch slated for late summer 2024.

The Zero-Knowledge (ZK) Layer 2 blockchain network, developed in collaboration with Cronos Labs, Matter Labs, and others, aims to enhance scalability and mainstream adoption for Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH).

The Tethys upgrade brings shared liquidity, yield-bearing assets, account abstraction, and technical enhancements, signaling significant progress.

While primarily for developers, an upcoming user rewards program on the testnet will engage users with quests.

The mainnet launch depends on bridge connections with the zkSync ecosystem, with Ethereum deposits expected by late June to early July.

Cronos acknowledges the support from the #CROFam community and anticipates the opportunities offered by this new network.
